Project materials list

Estimates only. Check quantities with your supplier before you order.

How to use it

  1. Open a calculator, such as the gravel calculator or the concrete calculator, and enter your measurements.
  2. Press Add to project list under the result. The line saved is the total the calculator shows, with every area and the allowance included.
  3. Repeat for each material. Lines for the same material are added together.
  4. Come back here to check the list, remove lines you no longer need, then copy it as plain text or print it.

What each total includes

Each total adds up the volume and weight of every line for that material, in cubic yards and cubic meters, and US tons and tonnes. Bags are counted once per bag size, from the combined volume, then rounded up. That is the same rule the calculators use when you add more than one area.

Costs appear only if you typed a price into the calculator. The list never adds prices, delivery or tax of its own.

Questions

Where is my list saved?

Only in this browser on this device, in its local storage. Nothing is sent to us, so the list will not appear on your phone if you made it on a computer, and clearing your browser data deletes it. To keep a copy, use Copy as plain text or Print.

Why is the bag total smaller than the lines added up?

Each calculator rounds its own bag count up to a whole bag. The list adds the volumes for each bag size first, then rounds up once, so part-bags left over on separate lines are not each counted as a whole bag.

Does the list include prices?

Only the prices you typed into a calculator before adding the line. If you priced some lines and not others, the price total covers the priced lines only. Ask your supplier for a quote that includes delivery and tax.
